# Uli

> Uli is a light team chat platform hosted in the EU. It is in development: early access will open to people on the waitlist at https://uli.chat/.

Built:

- Channels and direct messages, laid out the way teams expect from other chat tools.
- Works in any modern browser, on a computer or a phone.
- Hosted and run by the Uli team, so customers have no servers to maintain.
- Hosted with a European hosting provider, in data centres inside the EU.
- No third-party services handle messages. Conversations stay under EU law and the GDPR.
- Message history is never capped or locked.

Planned:

- Optional end-to-end encryption on the channels a team chooses.
- Clients and partners as guests in the channels shared with them.
- Importing channels and message history from Slack or Microsoft Teams.
- Exporting all message history at any time.
- Integrations for bots and other tools.
- Desktop and mobile apps.
- Optional AI: no AI at all, a model from a European provider, or a team's own provider or self-hosted model.
